Gold great for jewelry

High quality product but, please spare the gold. When mixed with tin-lead solder, gold forms a brittle inter-metallic material, requiring pads to be rinsed with molten solder to make a reliable joint---a nuisance. It would be better and cheaper to coat tin-lead or other solder plating with rosin flux.

QFN-16 Breakout board.

I am experimenting with some of the mini-circuits and building a mixed conventional and micropart board. Not ready to go to full all mini circuits because my objective is based on a relative small production run using a mixed surface mount and standard component/function board servicing 20 MHz to 6 GHz. Analogue devices have some mature chips tat are mid-level through hole technology that fit my end item functional cost goal. Looking forward to using the IC Breakout board physical availability to help me have sections of the configurable board cover the full spectrum simply be changing some mixer and LO that do not cover the spectrum at my end item price point.
